08/08/2020 -- Do you remember? In 1999, I wrote an instrumental about the 25th year of my life. In Fall 2021, TAXIM itself will be counting 25 years. Wow! By this I'm not announcing some kind of anniversary song but an all-new anniversary album. I STILL don't know the final title, however, I know what it will be about and what it will sound like.
Expect the next full-length to be very political and aggressive -- and less electronic. That's right, I will record all new songs using mostly real instruments (and even worse, I actually will be playing them myself). At the moment I'm busy refreshing and heavily improving my playing skills, so a delay might happen. For the first, though, the album's release is set for Fall 2021.
04/26/2018 -- Yes, it's been quite a while, but TAXIM is still alive. However, I've decided to go back to hobby music producing, so from now on new albums will be released less regularly--and quietly. You know, this is the 2010s, and promoting independent music doesn't pay off anymore. I'll most likely just upload new music for free to Bandcamp, Soundcloud etc and that's about it. Oh: I've also got rid of TAXIM's Facebook page, so if you'd like to hear about new TAXIM releases, pay this page a visit every now and then.
As for the next album, I currently neither know how it's going to be called nor when it's going to be released. The idea behind "Dreiklang" is too aged by now, however, the song "Dancing in my Padded Cell" may appear on my next release as a bonustrack.
08/12/2019 -- No, the above screenshot is not Sam's Journey on the C64, it's Sam's Journey on the NES. We, Knights of Bytes, started adapting our cute platformer for Nintendo's 8-bit console some time ago, so there's not only pictures but also a sneak peak video. Click here to watch!
So far, I have adapted six original tunes and I feel quite satisfied with the result. It's a lot of work, though, so don't expect Sam to conquer the NES anytime soon. We will try to keep you posted on our progress at knightsofbytes.games as well as Knights of Bytes on Facebook.
04/27/2018 -- On the 24th of December 17 we (Knights of Bytes) released our C64 platformer "Sam's Journey". 19 TAXIM tunes in there. Also, the release trailer features a new synth remix by me ("Sam's Journey - The Green Hills"). Click here to download the whole thing as hq MP3. The game is available from Protovision.
While our future journeys will definitely lead us to both NES and SNES, "Sam's Journey" wasn't necessarily our last C64 game. Stay tuned for further news.
The video for "Dancing in my Padded Cell". This song is not related to "Alice: Madness Returns" at all, but I thought the game's in-game footage fits the music quite nicely.
Originally, "Dancing in my Padded Cell" was supposed to appear on "Dreiklang", an album I quit working on. The final version of the song may be released someday, though (see general news).
The last songs I released can be found on "We Will Haunt You" (2016).
